Celebrating the cultures along the Ancient trade route through their art, performance cuisine, and more. This is an event for the whole family featuring a day long stage presentation of acts that originated around the world, an international food court, a bazaar, and a kid’s crafts zone.

ART COMPETITION

The Silk Road Art Competition is open to all students in Grades 6 - 12. The goal is to create a work of art that represents the various cultures that were part of the network of Silk Road trade routes from the 2nd century BCE to the 18th century. The artwork can be done in any medium and must be no larger than 12” x 18” in dimension.

Cash Prizes Awarded in each Catagory

Catagories are 6th-8th grade and 9th-12th grades.

  • 1st place - $200.00
  • 2nd place - $100.00
  • 3rd place - $50.00

All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Winners will be announced at the Silk Road Unity Festival on Sunday, May 7, 12:00-4:00 p.m

Please submit artwork on or before April 24, 2023. The student’s name, grade level, school, and phone number must be indicated on the back of the artwork. The drop-off points are the seven library branches in Anaheim: Central, Canyon Hills, East Anaheim, Euclid, Haskett, Ponderosa Joint-Use, and Sunkist. Library addresses and hours are available at Libraries.

While we will take every reasonable care, we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged artwork. Artwork may be picked up at the Silk Road Unity Festival at the end of the event at 4:00 p.m. Artworks not picked up cannot be returned unless special arrangements are made.
