Honoring our Healthcare Workers
Celebrations in Art
Tributes was a traveling show we put together in response to COVID to honor and pay tribute to our hard working, dedicated and often under appreciated health care workers.
This was put together with mission Viejo Cultural Arts Supervisor Dru Maurer and Space in the Gap and we had work from a number of different Artists and group works by different community groups and kids group which included our kids from GOALS, My Day Counts and the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim.
Also 10 year old Emilee Oroperza, her mother, her father and her sister Miss Anaheim Beautiful Priscilla all contributed to our show as well as helping with the painting events we with groups for this project.
In conjunction with this show, Irfan Murtaza, Vickie Green and myself placed artwork into the Parkway Gallery on Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo at the entrance to Mission Hospital.
We held our first showing at the Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo which oddly enough was covered by Dunya News in Pakistan and broadcast throughout Pakistan, India, Thailand and England.
We moved the show to the Muzeo in the windows as COVID was going on. From there it went back to Mission Viejo to the Norman P. Murray Center.
In conjunction with this show we also held a Community Art Event at Ponderosa Park in celebration of the new community health clinic built by St Judes/Providence health care in this low income neighborhood.
We are looking forward to putting together a similar show of this nature sometime in the future.
